Tsunoda penalised three grid places

Max Verstappen has claimed pole position for the Dutch Grand Prix, ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez. The Dutchman will be looking to extend his championship lead at his home race, after winning the last two races in Belgium and Italy.

Qualifying report

Verstappen set the fastest time in Q3 with a lap of 1:08.885, over half a second faster than Leclerc. Perez was a further 0.044s behind in third place. Carlos Sainz Jr. qualified fourth for Ferrari, ahead of Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.

Yuki Tsunoda will drop three places on the grid for the race, after impeding Russell during qualifying. The Japanese driver will start from 13th place.

The race will take place on Sunday, 4 September, at 3pm BST.
